International Leadership Association 13th Annual Global Conference. London. I took part in two panel presentations:

This seeks to capture ‘the best contemporary thinking about leadership today from a diverse range of scholars, practitioners, and educators working in the field of leadership around the world’.

Meet the World: Leadership Talks on Post-Crisis Leadership. De Baak, Noordwijk, Netherlands. I led a workshop at this thought-provoking event on Post-Newtonian Leadership. It was great to share a platform with colleagues including Peter Robertson of Human Insight and Sharon Turnbull of the Leadership Trust. You can find further details on De Baak's website.

Leading in a Complex World: New Approaches for Church Leaders. A one-day conference organised by MODEM and Winchester Business School. "Enjoyable", "thought provoking" and "encouraging" were three comments.

June

Transformation and Change: A Non-Linear View. Public Service Management Wales Summer School, Lampeter. A series of 4 innovative workshops with my colleague, Arthur Turner. These offered an alternative to the prevailing Western view of leadership and change, which is one of cause and effect. You can see a video of one of the workshops via the Resources page.

Leading in a Post-Newtonian World workshop for nexusbristol

Post-Newtonian LeadershipEuropean Academy of Management Conference, Rome. I presented this paper as part of the Worldly Leadership track. It seeks to move leadership beyond an implicit 'cause and effect' worldview to a world of emergence and self-organization. You can read an abstract here.

Four Leadership Forums for the Church of Scotland, in Glasgow, Edinburgh, Aberdeen and Oban. I co-led these with my MODEM colleague, Richard Fox.

Embracing Chaos: Learning from Cardiac Surgery and Chernobyl. Workshop for nexusbristol, a new forum for leaders working to create better outcomes for children and young people in Bristol. We explored where people find security in times of change. Further details about nexusbristol here.
